Genshikai Ibunroku to Receive Two Updates in 2020, Including New Zones and Major Improvements

"Phantom of the Phantom" was released about a week ago, and developer MiHoYo today unveiled its roadmap through February 2021. The first update, called Update 1.1, will be delivered on November 11, with a second major update scheduled for December 23; MiHoYo says it plans to maintain this five-week cycle for the foreseeable future.

However, those who have had no life since "Phantom of the Opera" was released may be disappointed to learn that update 1.1 does not offer much new content for players. In a series of blog posts, translated by

, the company explains that several in-game activities that players had hoped would be added soon have been delayed in order to focus on bug fixes and various system improvements.

In another blog post, MiHoYo outlined the fixes and improvements to be made in 1.1, as translated by redditor Zlunlu. The translation is not perfect, but it appears that in addition to the monster encyclopedia, the ability to lock items and equipment will be added. It will also allow users to use food and medicine without having to open their inventory, and will add new items to help locate hidden chests and collectibles that might otherwise be missed. MiHoYo has also stated that they are working on allowing players to customize controls and rebind keys, although it is not confirmed at this time that this will be included in 1.1 (thankfully).

The 1.1 update will include one new event called "The Star of No Return," but it is not clear exactly what activities this will include. It will probably just add a new time-limited quest for players to complete in exchange for more rewards.

Update 1.2 is more exciting, however, as MiHoYo did not go into detail, but it will add the Dragon Spine Mountains to the game, creating an entirely new area for players to explore. It is unclear how large this new area will be and whether it will have the same puzzles and exploration as the two regions currently in the game.

Update 1.3 for February will include the Lantern Lit Festival. Again, no big deal.

But hey, it's good to know a little about what MiHoYo is working on. But hey, it's nice to know a little bit about what MiHoYo is working on. I've been playing "Phantom of the Opera" almost nonstop since its release, and despite all the free-to-play microtransactions nonsense, I'm having a really great time.
