Hades players who want to be the first to know about the next update can sign up for the test branch on Steam and the Epic store. Developer Supergiant warns that the test branch is not for everyone and that people should only register if they are suffering from "rare technical problems" or want to help with testing.

"The 'Hades' test branch is a version of 'Hades' with bug fixes and other work in progress that we are preparing for an official patch," the test branch readme for the Hades Discord server states. "Having completed Early Access development of Hades, we especially want to make sure that subsequent patches launch without issues. Having a sufficient number of players choose to play on the test branch gives us confidence that our changes have been thoroughly tested before launching the official patch."

There will be no test branch updates on a specific schedule, nor will patch notes be released outside of official updates; Supergiant also states that the existence of a test branch should not be taken as a sign that more content is coming stating.

"We have put everything into v1.0 of Hades," the FAQ states. "The Hades Test Branch is intended to ensure that the upcoming follow-up patches are as problem-free as possible. Once we are sure things have settled down with our launch, our small team will take a break to recharge and plan what to do next. During this time, the "Hades" test branch will likely be functionally shut down (i.e., no updates will be made)."

Regarding the switch between the two branches, Supergiant Once the official update is released, the test and main branches of Hades on Steam "will be one and the same"; on Epic, the test branch will be a completely independent library entry, so you can simply uninstall it and return to the main "Hades" game.
