Razer Edition motherboard is the cherry on top of RGB battle stations
[Having already worked on keyboards, mice, headsets, controllers, and a variety of other products (even toasters), the final frontier for Razer in the PC space is to offer actual components.) As a step in that direction, Razer will be selling a line of AM4 motherboards for AMD's Ryzen processors.

This was one of many announcements made at the company's first RazerCon event over the weekend. It is also part of a larger play to make everything RGB, as Razer has done. It also ties in with the Chroma Connect program, which consists of over 50 third-party hardware partners, including the newly added WD Black, Seagate Gaming, Yeelight, and Twinkly.

Razer's goal is to expand the Chroma RGB lighting ecosystem far beyond its own peripherals. And "to natively control the growing number of connectable devices," Razer has announced that it is partnering with ASRock to bring the first Razer Edition motherboards to market.

These will essentially be custom versions of ASRock's Taichi boards; Razer plans to launch several models based on AMD's X570 and B550 chipsets, at least initially. The company did not say whether it intends to offer Intel-compatible motherboards at some point.

"The board will be the first of its kind, natively supporting Razer Chroma RGB and offering universal compatibility with thousands of addressable RGB (ARGB) components. DIY PC builders with multiple ARGB components can now easily sync all their components with Razer peripherals using only the Razer Synapse 3 app," Razer said.

Razer's timing is also aided by AMD's announcement of its Ryzen 5000 series CPUs (Zen 3), which are expected to debut for retailers next month. In anticipation, motherboard manufacturers have already begun distributing BIOS updates to ensure compatibility with 500 series boards.

In any case, if you're a die-hard Razer fan, you'll want to mount this in your Razer case, relax in your Razer Iskur gaming chair, and talk into the Razer Seiren Mini microphone placed next to the Razer Sneki Snek plush toy. You'll be able to tell everyone about your setup.
