Blue Announces Yeti X Microphone That Looks and Sounds Like a "World of Warcraft" World

The Blue Yeti X remains our top pick for the best mics for gaming and streaming, but it's always lacked that WoW element, that World of Warcraft element. Now, the Yeti X World of Warcraft Edition USB microphone is available in a new variant that features WoW-style samples, voice modulation, and design.

Developed in collaboration with Blizzard, the new microphone comes with new options for Logitech G software and includes hundreds of audio samples from the game's latest expansion content, World of Warcraft There's also: Shadowlands According to Logitech, there's also some bonus information from the game that hasn't yet been released to the public.

There are also multiple options for voice modulation, allowing you to turn your voice into one of the many races featured in the game. This includes presets for orcs, gnomes, daemons, and imps, as well as non-WoW effects.

The mic itself functions the same as the standard Yeti X, with multiple pickup patterns, on-the-fly control via a dedicated multi-function knob, and an LED-lit monitor on the front for easy level management.

However, a few hardware tweaks have been made: the LED-lit monitor features rune letters instead of the usual generic dots (also color-customizable), and the microphone and accompanying stand have a "battle gray" finish with gold accents. It also looks great mounted on a boom arm instead of the included stand (also with the rune motif).

We will have more to say about the Blue Yeti X WoW Edition, but our first impression is that this could be a decent mic for DMs of web-based role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. The included voices and presets would be quite fun, and you could build on the default selection to create your own custom presets for your party and world.

However, the Yeti X WoW Edition is a bit pricier than the standard Yeti. This special edition costs $199 (£190 / €210), while the regular model costs $170 (£160 / €180) and will be available this month.
