Your PC deserves a sweet kiss from a magnetic screwdriver.

Your PC deserves a sweet kiss from a magnetic screwdriver.

I recently made the mistake of moving across the country during a pandemic. This rookie move inevitably led to a month and a half spent building bookshelves, standing desks, kitchen islands, garage storage, and endless furniture.

I regret embarking on this journey without the help of a magnetic screwdriver. I feel like Frodo who set off for Mordor without his trusty sting. Let me put my failure to good use for the benefit of my readers. If you open your PC regularly, get a magnetic screwdriver.

We've all experienced the third least pleasant part of building a PC. It's when you drop a screw into the case and it rolls into the back of the motherboard or into some other metal crevice. Screws dropped in the case roll into the back of the motherboard or into a gap in the metal and get left behind.

One more piece of advice. It is never a good idea to build a PC with an electric drill. Over-tightening certain screws, especially those on the motherboard, not only makes removal difficult when maintenance or replacement becomes necessary, but over-tightened screws can crack or damage fragile PC components. It is better to do this manually.
