Dell slashed the price of this Alienware m15 R2 by $1,100, making it one of the best Prime Day gaming laptop deals I've seen in the past two days. Amazon Prime Day deals on Razer's Blade 15 have previously stolen, but this one is very strong for a great price.

We may be looking at a 9th generation Intel processor, but it's still a 6 core/12 thread chip that can hit 4.5GHz at top speed. Storage is 1TB, with a pair of 512GB PCIe SSDs configured in RAID 0. What does this mean?

It is worth stating that in a RAID 0 configuration, if one drive dies, all data is lost, even if the other SSD is fine, but with today's rugged solid state drives, this is still a bit of an edge case.

The only real downside to this machine is its screen, a 60Hz 1080p panel, the only part of the Alienware that feels last generation. Many other machines in this price range, as well as lower-end machines, have at least 144 Hz displays.

The Razer Blade 15 Advanced has a 300Hz panel, but it still costs $1,999.99 (down from $2,599.99).
