If you want to protect your Epic account and all things Fortnite, you need to set up two-factor authentication, or "2FA. We live in an age where hacking is commonplace, which means your personal information, credit cards, and precious V-bucks may be at risk. And your skins! Your precious, precious skins. That's why you need to know how to set up 2FA in Fortnite.

The good news is that it's easy if you know where to go; read on to learn how to enable 2-factor authentication for your Epic Games account.

The first step is to log into your Epic account (or create one if you don't already have one). You will then see your profile page. You will see a column on the left. Select the "Password and Security" tab.

On the "Password and Security" page, scroll down to find the section on two-factor authentication.

There are three options to enable 2FA in Fortnite. You can set as many as you like and make one option primary.

2FA Option 1: Authenticator App.

This option allows you to download an authenticator app from your phone's app store; the Google Authenticator app is recommended. If you need to authenticate your login, simply open the app, look for the generated code, and enter it before phasing out.

2FA Option 2: SMS Notification.

This is well known: when you try to do a 2FA login, you will receive a text on your phone with a code.

2FA Option 3: Email Notification.

Another obvious option. Instead of a text, you will receive an email with a code that you will need to enter.

That's it. You now have 2FA enabled for your Fortnite and Epic accounts. You may have to log back in, but it's a small price to pay to keep your cosmetics and V-bucks out of the hands of thieves.
