General
Leatherface and that guy from "Saw" are coming to "Call of Duty: Warzone".

Dead by Daylight doesn't seem to license characters from horror movies, and Call of Duty Warzone's Halloween event "The Haunting of Verdansk" features a big bad guy to give you a big scare October 20, Warzone adds new skins for Leatherface from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Jigsaw from Saw, and is packed with new rewards, custom maps, and limited-time modes.

You can read a detailed description of Haunting of Verdansk here, but here's a quick look at these outrageous skins. These are the first licensed characters to appear in Warzone, each in a bundle that must be purchased separately from the Season Battle Pass.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre bundle comes with a Leatherface skin for Operator Velikan and a "Family Heirloom" blueprint for LMG. After all, Leatherface needs a chainsaw. Also included are a melee weapon blueprint that transforms into a meat hammer and seven "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" themed items.

The Saw bundle is similar, with a "Billy the Puppet" skin for Operator Morte. I confess that I have never seen Saw, so I don't know if the man in Saw wore a mask like the puppet or if the puppet just became an iconic character in Saw. But I do remember that Cary Elwes cut off his leg or something, and it was messed up for Cary Elwes, who gave his best performances in "The Princess Bride" and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves."

Anyway, this bundle: with its skins, "Phlebotomozier Lethal Equipment, special throwing knives puncture enemies on impact." Looks awesome. There is a shotgun and assault rifle skin that transforms into a Saw, a truck skin, and five other themed Saw items.

Haunting of Verdansk The coolest part of the update seems to be the new "Zombie Royale" mode that turns slain players into zombies instead of sending them to a prison camp. The zombies are not Romero zombies and cannot use guns, but they have "increased speed, improved jumping, more deadly melee attacks, and thermal vision. When a player dies, they drop a syringe, and a zombie who collects two of those syringes reverts to human form and can join the fight again with its loadout. Must be good medicine!

When The Haunting of Verdansk kicks off on October 20, both the Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre bundles will cost 2400 CP (about $20).
