Extreme Meatpunks Forever Bound By Ash is now available on itch.io.

Extreme Meatpunks Forever, the game that launched a successful Kickstarter campaign and was called "the best video game name ever" by PC Gamer's Jody Macgregor: Bound By Ash is currently available on itch.io, and new episodes will be released daily from now until October New episodes will be released daily through October 30.

The game is the sequel, or second season, of the cult 2018 visual novel about "four gay disasters taking down neo-Nazis with giant robots made of meat. "Meatpunks combines an undeniably indie art style with surprisingly ambitious mechanics and a series of visual novels that are also top-down mecha brawlers, and even if the concept of genre has completely collapsed over time, I can assure you that you won't see many games that basically fall under this heading in your life.

The tone is darkly comical, the story takes place on the world's worst road trip, the characters are unabashedly flawed and unabashedly themselves, and the mechanics are literally made of flesh. And the sun has gone out, but this time our heroes are out to take it back.

The series is clearly a labor of love for its creator, Heather Flowers, who also wrote the "Meat Punk Manifesto" outlining the philosophical stance behind the game. It's worth a read for fans of Political Punk and anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of themselves by accepting that every human being is essentially already a Meat Mech pilot. [The second season raised $26,000 on Kickstarter last year (not at all far from the September 2020 delivery goal, which is a great job all things considered).

Season Pass for Extreme Meatpunks Forever: The season pass for Bound By Ash is currently $13.50 on itch.io and includes a 10% launch sale. It is also included in the June Itch Bundle For Racial Justice and Equality. So anyone who has purchased the vast collection of over 1,700 items will already have a copy (although it would be understandable if you didn't remember the entire list and weren't aware of it).

Both games can be played on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
