Cyberpunk 2077" has been postponed until December.

Cyberpunk 2077 delayed again CD Projekt announced today that due to the complexities of working from home and developing for PC, current-gen, and next-gen consoles simultaneously, they have decided to delay the game by three weeks and release it on December 10.

"'Cyberpunk 2077' has evolved somewhere along the way into an almost next-gen title, and we need to make sure everything works well and that all versions run smoothly. It may seem unrealistic to say that 21 days will make any difference in such a huge and complex game, but it really does," CD Projekt said.

The publisher also addressed potential questions that the game might be delayed after announcing earlier this month that it had "gone gold."

"Passing certification, or "going gold," means that the game is ready and complete and has all the content. But it does not mean that we will stop working on it and raising the level of quality. On the contrary, many improvements will be made during this period and distributed in the Day 0 patch." This is a period we have underestimated."

This is not the first time Cyberpunk 2077's release has been postponed, and while the November release date is obviously disappointing to fans, following a June delay, other publishers may not feel the same way: as of October 6, the studio had announced "no further reply-tweeted that there would be no postponement." Seeing the attention the message is getting today, the studio appears to have followed up: "If I delete this right away, will anyone notice?
