AMD Announces Radeon RX 6800 XT Graphics Card, Available for $649

AMD has announced an all-new graphics card, the Radeon RX 6800 XT. Announced during the company's "Where Gaming Begins: Ep. 2" livestream, the new graphics card uses the all-new RDNA 2 architecture and is targeted to outperform Nvidia's RTX 3080 at 4K and 1440p.

So what can we expect? AMD promises that this GPU will rival the absolute high end of graphics cards, and most of the improvements can be attributed to the improvements the Radeon team brings to the new architecture, including those inherited from AMD's Zen CPU architecture. Most of the improvements are attributed to the improvements the Radeon team brings to the new architecture, including those inherited from AMD's Zen CPU architecture. [Not only that, but RDNA 2 also offers improved performance per watt. The company claims a 54% increase in performance per watt over the first RDNA architecture.

All of this is integrated into the RX 6800 XT. The specs can be found below.

AMD also offers new AMD-exclusive features in the RX 6800 XT. For example, a feature called AMD Smart Access Memory pairs an RX 6000 series GPU with a Ryzen 5000 CPU. This allows the Ryzen CPU to have full access to the GPU memory, and along with a one-click overclocking feature called Rage Mode, AMD promises a significant performance boost (up to 13% in some cases). [The AMD RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 will be available on November 18. Meanwhile, the RX 6900 XT, a high-end RTX 3090 competitor, will begin shipping on December 8.
