AMD Announces $999 RX 6900 XT GPU: Cheaper, Smaller, and Sometimes Faster than RTX 3090

AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su announced the Radeon RX 6900 XT, a high-end graphics card in the AMD RX 6000 series that can compete with Nvidia's best GPUs at 4K and higher resolutions. It is priced at $999.

Oh, did I forget to mention that AMD is positioning this card as an RTX 3090 killer? The Red Team reports that the card is as fast, if not faster, than Nvidia's $1,499 RTX 3090 in a handful of games. Of course, you'll have to do your own testing to see if that's true, but either way, it looks like a great time to get into PC gaming.

It's important to note that AMD's use of Rage Mode and Smart Access Memory in the RX 6900 XT benchmark means that it will take a bit of overclocking and some clever Ryzen cooperation to make an impact on Nvidia's best work. Still, it's much cheaper.

Specs for the RX 6900 XT can be found below.

The RX 6900 XT will be available on December 8, while the RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 will be available on November 18.
