The Witcher's wrinkled testicle armor is getting smoothed out for Season 2.

The distinctive armor worn by the Nilfgaardian soldiers in the first season of Netflix's The Witcher was a controversial choice. Some liked its organic, Geiger-like appearance. Others thought it looked like a ball sack.

In a photo from behind the scenes in Season 2, taken by Terry Blackburn for Backgrid and discovered by Redanian Intelligence, Cahill and several Nilfgaard soldiers are wearing plate armor. Cahill also has a winged helmet, as described many times in the book.

Gerardt's second season look has also been refreshed, and it appears that he too has been upgraded in the armor department. These outfits will be the work of new costume designer Lucinda Wright, who has worked on such TV shows as "Doctor Who," "Vanity Fair," and "Mr. Witcher's Suspicion" (no relation).

"The Witcher," like other shows on Netflix, was just resumed in August after filming was interrupted by the kowid pandemic. Season 2 will premiere in 2021.
