Yesterday was the fourth anniversary of Titanfall 2. The highlight of that campaign, for me and many others, is the "Effect and Cause" level. To spoil the surprise, let me explain that it's an environment consisting of going back and forth between two timelines.

There was one small surprise in "Effect and Cause" that everyone missed. Lannon Salono, an animator who worked on the game at Respawn (and later moved to Infinity Ward), revealed everything to me on this memorable occasion.

It's been so many years since I played this level that I can't remember exactly where this place is, but as you can see, there are three protective suits that are not exact copies of Gordon Freeman's HEV suit, but somewhat similar. The middle suit has a crowbar.

"Effects & Causes" takes place in a destroyed research facility, which probably sounds familiar. As Salono moves back and forth through the timeline in the video above, we see that the three suits were there before the facility was destroyed. Moving to the present day, we see that the middle suit and the crowbar are being used by someone.

It is a nice tribute from one great game to another, and an opportunity to remind those who have not played "Titanfall 2" that it is a brilliant game.
