Call of Duty: Cold War gets even bigger than Modern Warfare in 4K "Ultra RTX" mode.

"Call of Duty: Cold War" will be even bigger than the previous CoD, Treyarch confirms PC specs for "Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War" were released yesterday, and the general specs are a bit more PC than the beta claims While they seem to be a bit more PC-friendly, the 250GB of storage space that will need to be reserved for "Ultra RTX" mode has our HDD cages rattling with fear.

Relax. This is for RTX-on, 4K-out-your-ear mode, which also requires an Nvidia RTX 3080. This includes everything needed to "run games at high FPS at 4K resolution using ray tracing". In other words, tons of high-resolution textures, etc.

If you are not aiming for 4K and instead want the maximum refresh rate your monitor can produce, you only need 175GB for all game modes combined. If all you really need is an unpretentious multiplayer experience, then 50GB of free space on an SSD or HDD will suffice.

However, this is only at launch; Treyarch recommends that you set aside that much free space for the game at launch. Who knows how much space on the PC will eventually be swallowed up by the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with Warzone installed, occupies a total of 231 GB on my PC. Game modes, patches, clocks, guns, map changes, etc. That's all.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War is definitely an evolving game with ever increasing storage requirements. Starting November 13, "Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War" will be available.
