Cyberpunk 2077" teases out "Everspace 2" in January.

The postponement of Cyberpunk 2077 from November 19 to December 10 was welcome news for other studios releasing games in November. The ability to escape the shadows of such behemoths, even if only for a week or two, can make the difference between a success story and a flop.

But for games released in December, it's a different story. And some games have decided that the best option is to just get out of the way: yesterday, Grinding Gear Games postponed the 3.13 update for "Path of Exile" to sometime in January.

"Let's get right to the cyber elephant in the room: the release of Cyberpunk 2077 has been pushed back to December 10. This is a major blow to the Early Access release of Everspace 2, which was scheduled for mid-December. Not only will the various media outlets and content creators be covering arguably the most anticipated AAA game of all time throughout the entire holiday season (and not much else), but we also know that within our community (and our team), there is a significant overlap in audience

As a result.

As a result, Everspace 2 will be available for Early Access in January. Rockfish stated in an email, "We know that Everspace 2 fans will be frustrated, but it is not in our best interest to compete with the most anticipated game in history."

The good news for supporters is that Rockfish will send keys for the closed beta build on November 2 to everyone who backed the game at the €30 or more level, which is almost everyone. These keys will expire once the Early Access build is released, but that's okay, as you will be sent new keys for an updated version that you can choose from Steam, GOG, or the Epic Store.

The Kickstarter update also delves into Everspace 2's crafting system, featuring a bit of "gunship porn": it's one of the game's powerful new ships, four primary hardpoints and 360-degree It's two screens showcasing one of the game's powerful new ships, the Heavy Fighter subclass with four primary hardpoints and a 360-degree autoturret. The gunship is not playable in the closed beta build, but Rockfish says it will be ready to go when the Early Access version launches in January. More details can be seen in a developer livestream on Twitch today from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET.
