Asus Adopts Sexy Water-Cooled PCB Slip for New Nvidia RTX 30 Series GPUs

It is clear that the new RTX 3080 and Nvidia's other 30-series GPUs run hot when pushed to their absolute limits. To combat this sweltering silicon, Asus has announced that its water-cooled cards will be joining the pool party.

Asus is working with EKWB to produce water-cooled GeForce RTX cards with pre-installed EK-Quantum Vector water blocks.

The new compact single-slot RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 GPUs must be utilized as part of an existing full water-cooled loop and feature an EKWB cooler with split-flow engine supported by a nickel-plated copper cooling block shall be used.

All of this will be covered by an elegant transparent acrylic cover, whose minimalist design will allow for a choice of coolant and RGB lighting. And instead of intimidating with a flashy enclosure like Gigabyte's new Aorus Xtreme Waterforce, it showcases the beauty of the underlying technology.

The appearance of the exposed PCB is a nice "yes, my parts are out there, but I'm not going to use them.

The new cards are expected to hit store shelves in late November, but pricing has yet to be determined. These 2nd generation RTX cards are currently gold-dust.

You can check out RTX 3080 inventory here and see what retailers are saying about it. Also, if you can get a 30 series card without a water block, you can get an EKWB cooling block for about $150.
