Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition" 10-hour demo available on Steam.

Dragon Quest XI S- Definitive Edition is a 2018 reissue of the inoffensive JRPG, adding a full orchestral soundtrack (by popular demand), a retro-style 2D mode, and more. It's out in December, but a 10-hour demo is available on Steam, the same demo as the Nintendo Switch release, with plenty of game time to enjoy.

Of course, this does not make up for the fact that this Definitive Edition is a standalone version, with no upgrades available for the original version released on Steam. Nevertheless, since this demo is based on the Nintendo Switch version, it will make it clear that this is an area worth discussing to see if the PC version of Definitive Edition can be played without problems.

The demo allows us to try out many of the new features of Definitive Edition, including the soundtrack, the ability to speed up combat (a feature that will be appreciated by those who spent 100 hours in the original version), and the photo mode, although it appears that the 2D mode cannot be tried out.

Fans of the series and genre will be too familiar with Dragon Quest XI, but those who aren't may want to try the demo. As Chris wrote in 2018, "Basically, it's a JRPG for people who haven't played a JRPG in a while. It's well-made, but disappointingly safe."
