Facebook suspends orders for the Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap.

Facebook is reportedly canceling orders for the Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap after receiving reports that a "small percentage" of the more form-fitting premium straps do not meet quality standards.

According to an email received by UploadVR, Facebook has contacted some customers with remaining orders for the Elite Strap and is canceling their orders due to "customer quality reports." The company also confirmed that it is temporarily suspending shipments of inventory while it investigates. These customers may cancel their orders if they wish.

"We are investigating several customer quality reports and while we believe this affects a very small percentage of Elite Strap Accessories, it is important to us that we always provide our customers with the highest quality experience possible with our products." Facebook stated in an email, "We have temporarily stopped shipping inventory from our distribution center while we look into this."

This follows a complaint from a customer who used an Elite strap and reported that the strap snapped in two within a short period of time; UploadVR has confirmed that Facebook has previously promised to investigate the issue following a customer report, and is now apparently temporarily suspending orders as a result of that investigation.

Customers facing problems have been told to contact Oculus support for a full refund or replacement. The former is recommended until the defect found in the strap is resolved.

The Oculus Quest 2 comes with an included material strap, but the Elite Strap is available as a $49 upgrade for a more comfortable fit. There is also a $129 Elite Strap, which includes a fitted battery pack and carrying case for longer use on the go.
