Among Us vs. the Cheaters: Permanent Account System May Be Ready in December

Among Us is a game where you have to make a token effort to find out who is killing your friends and blow the wrong ones out of the airlock (sorry, Jorge). (It's light, it's silly, it's fun, and it's a video game, so of course there are cheaters. Developer Innersloth announced in October that it was working on the game's account system to reduce such behavior, and in an update posted yesterday, expressed hope that it would be ready in December.

"This will allow players to report harmful and/or hacking accounts." It may seem a bit bare-bones at first, but things like a friends list will also appear at a later date after launch."

The studio said it is in no rush to launch new initiatives to combat cheating.

"It was pretty bad for a little while, so Forte pushed out the server changes really fast. They seemed to help a lot, but some cheats still work and now there are bugs," he explained. 'But the rush to anti-hack is what caused the bugs, so it's going to take some time to get things straightened out. Also, rest assured that any threats being made in-game are false and your devices and data are safe. If you see a hacker, ban them or find another room."

Other major updates are in the works, including additional translation and localization, improved support for the colorblind, and, the biggest highlight, a new map with new tasks to complete while waiting to be murdered. There are still other ideas planned for the future, but according to the studio, there is no "official roadmap" for any of them: "We're taking things pretty slowly so that we can work on what we think is most needed for this game. We also don't want to promise something and not deliver on it, which is something we are afraid to share."

As for what's included in the latest update, here's the full story:
