Destiny 2 Fans Want Bungie to Add Permanent Monument to Cayde-6's Expired Ramen Vouchers

Remember in 2018 when Cayde 6, a fan of Destiny 2 and the only member of the Vanguard with a personality, was shot three times in the head during the Elders' prison break that opened the Forsaken expansion? Shortly thereafter, players erected a real-world shrine to their beloved Exo at E3, complete with an assortment of ramen noodles.

Shortly after Cayde's sad passing, Bungie paid tribute by adding a coupon that players could receive at the ramen booth in the tower. The coupons were available through a sort of mini-quest and, once found, provided a bit of lore in which Cayde himself recalled his love for the ramen and for the City and its inhabitants. However, it was nothing more than a touching recollection of one of the game's best characters.

But gamers are skeptical by nature, and suspecting that there was more to the story than Bungie was telling, many (myself included) held onto the coupon despite its utter worthlessness. We were wrong: the coupons were actually scheduled to be discontinued along with other items when Bungie cleaned up with the "Beyond Light" expansion

.

As a result, some Destiny 2 subreddits have called for a permanent in-game tribute not to Exo or his ramen, but to the precious coupon itself. One fan actually created a 3D printable sticker to commemorate Cayde's love of ramen. Not exactly an in-game reward for holding onto this little virtual hunk of paper for so long, but not bad:

Bungie has so far not commented on the call for a coupon memorial, but something like a permanent in-game commemoration of Cayde-6's death We have asked Bungie for comment and will update if we hear back. Until then, stay tuned for the roadmaps for Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, and what you can expect to enjoy in the Beyond Light raid.

Thanks, The Gamer.
