Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War" install size requirement sneakily reduced by 90 GB
[Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War] doesn't appear to be eating as much disk space as we previously thought. In a new blog post outlining preload times and download sizes, Activision has significantly revised the space requirements on PC, lowering the space required for the main game from 175GB to 82GB, at least at launch.

Keep in mind that Cold War's various graphics levels and "content packs" will affect the download size. If you plan to play multiplayer and nothing else, you can skip the campaign and zombie downloads to reduce the total size. Playing in "ultra graphics" mode, perhaps with 4K textures and other fancy embellishments, will significantly bloat the game size.

The previous size requirements were estimates that included future updates, and it is possible that Activision has reduced the requirements to only those that will actually be released, but we won't know until some time after launch.

Below is a full list of download sizes that (hopefully) will not change again before launch.

Perhaps I'm too used to big games eating up SSDs in 2020, but I'm quite pleased with these numbers. I'm particularly taken by the ability to delete parts of the game, a feature that wasn't available on the PC version of Modern Warfare until last month; it's odd that the official Battle Net page for Cold War doesn't yet reflect this update (it still shows the incorrect 175GB figure). (it still shows an incorrect number of 175 GB). Activision must be shouting this good news to the heavens.

More interestingly, the total capacity of the PC version of Cold War will be smaller than the PS4 and Xbox One versions (95GB and 93GB, respectively); the Ultra Graphics requirement for the PC version is also smaller than the 133-136GB required for the PS5 and Xbox Series X Smaller than the download; the Raven/Treyarch camp seems to have learned their lesson from the ongoing headaches of "Modern Warfare." However, "Cold Warfare" does not need to take into account "Warzone's" significant disk space shortage.
