Fortnite has brought back the old default skins.

Fortnite has brought back OG skins from the distant past of 2017, when players had to make do with the game's default characters. Ah, so human! Not that there's anything wrong with being Aquaman, Ghost Rider, or wearing a hamburger on your head, but sometimes you just want to be a humble human in khaki.

Players were quick to point out the drawbacks of the skin revival: the price and the fact that they had to pay for it in the first place. The skins are available in two Origins Sets, each for 2,000 V-Bucks. The original version of the glider can also be purchased for 500 V-Bucks.

Not cheap by any means, which may seem a bit odd considering that these skins were once the free default (although players can still get the original pickaxe for free). This news has also led some to hope for the return of the original maps, but is this pure nostalgia, or is it because humans are fundamentally averse to change? Either way, it is strangely pleasing to see the map again, a throwback to a simpler time.
