Nvidia's RTX 3060 Ti will likely ship this year.

Once again, scandals abound over 30-series inventory. An electronic company based in Saudi Arabia was spotted (via Tom's Hardware) bragging that it has stock of the yet-to-be-announced GeForce RTX 3060 Ti cards. And while it seems highly unlikely that this seller had the card itself in hand before Nvidia announced it, there may be something to this claim.

The possibility of publicity by Silicon Valley Computers is supported by a screenshot of a store where the card is allegedly in stock. The images show the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle 8G for $986 and the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming OC 8G edition for $1,013. These also appear to be Photoshopped, a claim reinforced by the following video on twitter (via @harukaze5719).

This video clearly shows a box of GPUs in the seller's possession. Therefore, it is not certain whether the actual GPU was inside. Still, seeing as the box is clearly visible to the camera, the bragging that follows (although it is terribly mean) may indeed have had some weight to it.

"Some people don't believe it. But after this video, you will believe it: the RTX3060Ti will be sold exclusively and will be available before its official launch. It will be available in all showrooms or through our online store.

"The kingdom's first surprise. Now it has arrived just for us. And even before the official release, the RTX 3060 Ti."

Since this claim surfaced, these elusive cards appear to have sold out, and SV Comp has now "removed the product listing" from the store. That is, if they even existed in the first place. Nevertheless, we doubt that a convincing package would exist even if the cards themselves were not in that store.

If this and other rumors are true, then new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti cards are likely to be announced within the next few months. These 2nd generation RTX cards should fit neatly into the current Ampere stack, just below the RTX 3070. [Speculation is that the RTX 3060 Ti will have 4,864 CUDA cores and 8GB GDDR6 memory. More importantly, it remains possible that Nvidia is preparing to announce an RTX 3060 Ti model soon. Perhaps even before the holidays.

In any case, it is unlikely that Silicon Valley Computer will receive product directly from Nvidia or its distribution partners after this.
