Dontnod, the "Life is Strange" studio, is currently working on six games

Paris-based developer Dontnod Entertainment, best known for its episodic adventure game series Life is Strange and Tell Me Why, is also the studio behind the sci-fi action adventure Remember Me and the Victorian horror RPG Vampyr. Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert told GamesBeat that the studio is currently working on six games, and that people might be surprised at what kind of games they are making. might be surprised, he said.

"We're not going to stick with the same thing every time," Guilbert said. We innovate. We reinvent ourselves in terms of quality, mechanics, and technology. It's really about finding new ways to tell the story."

In the interview, Dontnod mentions action RPGs and interactive fiction as genres they are interested in exploring, noting that the studio is familiar with the Telltale Games example. According to Gilbert, "We know that it's important not just to change the story, but to refresh the mechanics and look and feel of the game."

To support the increased production, Dontnod is adding a new studio in Montreal, adding another 50 employees, bringing the total staff to over 300.

Dontnod's next game is Twin Mirror, a detective story about an investigative journalist with a mind palace and an alter ego who, as Rachel said in a recent preview, "shows up at key moments in the game and has to make important decisions, and those choices affect the rest of the game." Dontnod is self-publishing Twin Mirror, which will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store on December 1 for one year.
