Destiny 2 sandbox update nerfs hunter dodge, making it easier to get exotics for scarce quests.

The last This Week at Bungie update before the launch of "Destiny 2: Beyond Light" covers a variety of news and updates, but in terms of importance, it starts with a nerf to the Hunter's dodge cooldown, which will be a few seconds longer.

It may not seem like a big deal, but the reason hunters are the most popular class in the game is also because dodge is the best class ability. Depending on the specs, Dodge grants free reloads and melee charges (both when using Dragon's Shadow) and also helps to break the enemy's tracking. While it probably won't be met with an enthusiastic response from anyone among hunter-mainers, someone familiar with this sort of thing says it is currently possible to charge Dodge every 9 seconds.

Other Sandbox Changes:

Bungie also revealed some new kiosks that will appear in the Beyond Light tower: the Quest Archive, which will make it easier for players to grab old quests that they previously abandoned ( Veteran players can also play New Light tutorial quests if they are so inclined), and more interestingly, the gorgeously named Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive.

"Here, players can obtain a variety of exotics and Legendary Pinnacle/Pursuit weapons that were once available in retired quests," Bungie explains. 'Since many of these exotics were associated with lengthy quests and difficult objectives, we wanted to ensure that their prices reflected their previous efforts. In order for players to purchase the exotics and legendaries they desire, they will need glimmer, objective materials, masterwork materials, exotic cyphers and ascendant shards.

A new Spoils of Conquest currency, which can only be earned by completing raids, was also introduced and is needed to access exotics that were tied to Vaulted raids. This is perfect for those who have not yet managed to get their hands on Scourge of the Past's Anarchy.

Snake-faced bastard Xur will also start offering quests that let players earn one Exotic Cipher per week.

As for the latest patch, the login screen has gone dark, and at least one Destiny 2 player (yes, Tim) is very excited; Destiny 2's character creation system has also changed: Guardian head and hair models have been replaced with "improved" versions, with " masculine" and "feminine" options instead of "male" and "female."

Bungie also has a "parting gift" for Destiny 2 players who are frustrated with the impending expiration of their Cayde-6 expiring ramen coupons." I know this stings a bit. It's a byproduct of inventory system cleanup and general maintenance." These coupons can't be redeemed for spicy ramen, but they can decorate your desktop for as long as you want."

Destiny 2: Beyond Light goes live on November 10. Here is what it has to say.
