Keeping pace with the highly successful year of free content for Modern Warfare, Activision has released the Season 1 roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Season 1 will launch on December 10, less than a month after the game's launch, and will offer new weapons, maps, game modes, and the mysterious "Warzone Experience."

The full roadmap can be found below.

Those familiar with the Modern Warfare/Warzone season updates over the past year will recognize the scale of this content. Curiously, the roadmap for Cold War is much less specific than that of Modern Warfare. We know that new weapons will be introduced, but it is not stated what they are. The rifle similar to the Groza in the image is likely one of them, but it is unclear if the striker shotgun that Adler is holding is a post-release gun or if it has already appeared in the game (it has not been released yet, after all).

We also don't know much about the new zombie mode or map, but it is exciting to see Modern Warfare's excellent 2v2 Gunfight mode confirmed for Cold War. And of course, it wouldn't be a Black Ops game without Nuketown. This time it's Nuketown '84. From the looks of it, it could be a more dilapidated, blown-up version of the classic map that has been abandoned for decades.

Then there's the "Classified Warzone Experience," but what the heck does that mean? If they are referring to a limited time mode like the recently released "Haunting of Verdansk," this is a very strange labeling. Season 1 will unify the progression of Modern Warfare as well as Cold War and Warzone, and as a big fan of the gameplay and feel of the weapons in Modern Warfare, I'm looking forward to seeing how fresh the weapons will be after Cold War's release. fiNN I hope they swing for the fences like Infinity Ward did with wacky weapons like ChainSAW.
