World of Warcraft Goes Free This Weekend for Returning Players

Former players of "World of Warcraft" will either despair or rejoice at the news that Blizzard has made access to the game free until November 9. Blizzard says, "We need you and your allies back on the front lines. 'This weekend, we're giving all players without active World of Warcraft accounts full access to the game and all characters without a subscription.'

Players will be able to access all of the game's expansions through an anniversary feature my crew is calling "Chromie Time". Basically, Chromie is a bronze dragon that appears as a gnome and can warp between various important events in WoW's history. The free period ends on November 9 at 23:59 CET (Central European Time) or November 8 at 23:59 PST (Pacific Standard Time) if you're in the US.

This is part of a broader promotion for the release of Shadowlands and applies only to the "main" edition of World of Warcraft. If you're not one of those old addicts with a crush on dwarves and bears, don't worry, we've got you covered.
