Nvidia Offers Low Latency Mode for Destiny 2 Beyond Light

Destiny 2 Beyond Light will not only add enough content to instantly consume 186GB of storage space to download (don't worry, it will shrink), it will also introduce Nvidia Reflex support.

Nvidia reports a 49% improvement in responsiveness when the new Reflex support is introduced and switched on. Perhaps enough to gain an advantage in crucibles.

The update comes with the latest Game Ready drivers molded specifically for Destiny 2, Call of Duty Cold War, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Godfall, as well as the Beyond scheduled for tomorrow, November 10. Light, which will be delivered via a Destiny 2 game update that will likely be the same as the Light overhaul.

Nvidia Reflex does not even require the company's latest GPUs. It is a technology introduced with clever marketing for G-Sync displays and the RTX 30 series, but in reality it is an SDK that can work with all GPUs dating back to the 900 series.

The impact of Nvidia Reflex varies from card to card and game to game and must be implemented by the developers themselves to reap its benefits. Our testing of this feature has shown that it reduces overall latency slightly and mirrors in-game movement instantly.

We did not experience anything like the up to 49 percent latency reduction that Nvidia is reporting in the Destiny 2 update, but as I said, that can vary widely from card to card and game to game. But as I said, it can vary widely from card to card and game to game.

Other updates with Nvidia's latest Game Ready drivers include: Reflex, DLSS, Highlights, and Ansel support for Call of Duty Cold War. There are also updates that ensure smooth launches of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Godfall, as well as support for four new G-Sync-enabled gaming monitors (Acer CP3271U V, Asus XG27AQ, MSI MAG274QR, and Xiaomi Mi 245 HF) are also supported.

New drivers can be found on the Nvidia driver download page.
