After a player outcry, the apex legend's battle path was made even easier.

Apex Legends' Battle Pass was overhauled in the game's seventh season in an effort to make progression "more streamlined and rewarding." The actual effect, however, was to dramatically slow down progression, making it a real problem for all but the most dedicated players.

Players complained, and EA quickly reversed course by cutting in half the amount of XP required to earn the stars needed to level up in Battle Pass. In a subsequent AMA, game director Chad Grenier stated that the developers "plan to make further changes in the future to give players more initiative in completing challenges."

The game's developers also announced that the game will be released in the fall of 2012, and that the game will be released in the fall of 2013.

Today, Grenier announced the next step in that plan: bringing the Season 7 Daily Challenge back to Season 6 levels. Some of the changes, especially regarding damage targets, are dramatic. For example, damage per character has been reduced from 1000 to 250, and damage per weapon class has been reduced from 1250 to 125. There are no changes to rewards.

More changes will be made in a patch to be released next week, Grenier said. Weekly Challenges will be returned to their Season 6 difficulty level, giving players the opportunity to complete them with multiple characters.

Judging by the response to Grenier's tweet, not everyone is happy with the changes. Some players feel that the XP required per level is still too high, and of course, a few have said that it was too easy to begin with, but overall the reaction to the changes seems to be quite positive. It remains to be seen what the long-term impact of these changes will be, but at the very least, it seems clear that Respawn is committed to providing all players with a fair and worthwhile battle pass.
