Creative Director of "Star Wars Battlefront 2" Leaves DICE After 8 Years

Dennis Bränvall, creative director of Star Wars: Battlefront II since 2019, is leaving developer DICE after eight years Bränvall's work at DICE began with Battlefield 4, Bränvall's work at DICE began with Battlefield 4, and he then joined the Star Wars: Battlefront team as a Senior Level Designer on the first game. He first worked on Battlefront II as Associate Creative Director, and was named Creative Director last year.

"I still remember the entire studio meeting being filled with goosebumps and tears of joy when we first won the Star Wars contract," he wrote on Twitter.

"Eight years later, the journey is over and I am moving on from DICE at the end of this month. Thank you all. May the Force be with you.

This past April, "Battlefront II" received its final update, called "The Battle on Scarif," and prominent members of the community gathered to celebrate the game with a tribute video. In the years since the November 2017 launch, when Battlefront II was heavily criticized for its microtransaction-heavy business model, the shooter overcame a difficult beginning thanks to regular updates and a team that listens intently to community feedback, gained an enthusiastic player base. Now DICE has its sights set on the next Battlefield, due in 2021.
