Just two days after its release, Ubisoft already has reason to call "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" a record breaker. According to a new press release, the Viking saga "Ivar" already has twice as many first-day players as "AC: Odyssey". Furthermore, according to Ubisoft, the launch of Valhalla "reached higher levels of viewership and engagement on Twitch and YouTube than any previous Ubisoft game launch."

"This paves the way for an exciting holiday, and "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" will be one of the biggest hits of the season," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. He also noted that "Valhalla" is available on more than seven platforms, and that increased sales of next-generation consoles in the coming months will spur the success of "Valhalla." Since the Xbox Series X/S has only just been launched, the impact of this on overall player numbers will probably be limited and will not detract from overall performance. People are simply staying home because they really, really want to be Vikings.
