Thrustmaster's eSwap X Pro Controller Becomes a Bit in Your Hands

It's not often you see a product announcement boasting of a wired controller connection, but Thrustmaster has done just that with its new eSwap X Pro controller.

I don't recall the Series X controller being particularly laggy, but apparently this means that the controller has zero lag. Officially licensed by Microsoft and timed to coincide with the release of the Xbox Series X, the eSwap X Pro is also Windows compatible. [Of course, several parts of the eSwap are interchangeable. There are interchangeable sticks, and Thrustmaster's new generation of thumb prongs offer improved resistance, longevity, and readjustment accuracy over older ones. The grips can also be changed to softer ones or to a different color.

The trigger can also be locked off, allowing it to be activated with less force. The buttons are also located in places where you would not normally find them, such as under the controller or on the edge of the player's side. All buttons are placed on new tact switches, which improve reaction time. Many buttons can also be remapped manually and button and D-pad modules can be swapped. Buttons and D-pad modules are held in place by magnets.

All come with the slightly embarrassing slogan "Born To Be Ranked," which makes you giggle even if you are not Jonathan Ross, and retail for $160 (£150), with replacement modules at $20 (£18), The color grip pack is $50 (£45). It will be available in the U.S. and Canada on December 4, and in Europe on December 10.
