Hunt: Showdown will be offline for 48 hours in preparation for the biggest update ever.

Hunt: Showdown moves to Hunt: Showdown 1896 next week and undergoes major changes featuring an upgraded engine, an overhauled UI, major changes to the meta, and a brand new map for the first time in three years. That's the good news. The bad news is that big updates mean big downtime, and Hunt: Showdown will be unavailable for two days starting tomorrow.

“It's time, hunters,” tweeted developer Crytek. 'We are just a few days away from the launch of Hunt: Showdown 1896, and as we announced in July, the Hunt: Showdown servers will be down for 48 hours beginning Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00 PM (1:00 PM GMT).

“This means that the game will not be available on any platform as we prepare for the arrival of Mammon's Gulch, which you have been eagerly awaiting, and we appreciate your understanding, patience and support as we enter together into a whole new era of Hunt on August 15.”

This is a long downtime, but as a relentless optimist, I'm going to assume that Crytek is playing it safe: the actual upgrade may be a 20-minute job, but the developers have a large buffer in place so players can stop by the goat rodeo and They won't be pissed off. [...] [...] [...] [...]
