Fallout: London sets new record by becoming “fastest game ever redeemed on GOG”.

It's not just the wars that never change; Fallout fans never change either. They have always been greedy for Fallout games. Proof of this can be seen in Fallout: Fallout: London, an ambitious full conversion mod for Fallout 4 that exports irradiated wastelands from the US and imports them into the UK. The mod was released on July 24, and players jumped on it with such ferocity that it instantly set a new record on GOG.

“In the first 24 hours, the mod was redeemed over 500,000 times, making it the fastest redeemed game ever on GOG,” according to a GOG news post. “GOG's digital game storefront has existed since 2008, and currently hosts nearly 10,000 games hosted on the site. No game, not even 'Cyberpunk 2077' or 'The Witcher,' has had as many people flooding in as 'Fallout: London' has had the same momentum.”

Granted, the only place players could download mods for Fallout: London was GOG: you could install mods on Fallout 4 on Steam, but the mods themselves were not hosted on Steam Workshop, nor were they on Nexus Mods None. As far as I know, adding the mod to the GOG shopping cart and checking out ($0) is considered “redemption” of the mod. (To the best of my knowledge, adding to the GOG shopping cart and checking out (for $0) is considered a redemption.

However, I suspect that nearly everyone who has redeemed it has either tried it or will soon; looking at GOG, the best-selling game in the entire store right now is, you guessed it, “Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition” (60% off). People are not only redeeming “Fallout” but also buying “Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition”: the war will never change, nor will the thirst for more Fallout.
