It's 2024 and there are still surprisingly few games that could be direct competitors to “The Sims”; after Life by You's unfortunate demise, Krafton's inZOI is the next hopeful to dominate the life sim scene.

Overwolf is the owner of Curseforge, one of the largest repositories of add-ons and mods, a great app for games like Minecraft and World of Warcraft, and houses over 50,000 mods for The Sims 4. Krafton says it will be working with Overwolf to scout modders and have them create goodies for the game's release later this year.

In a press release, Hyungjun Kim, the game's producer and director, said: “inZOI is committed to encouraging easier mod creation and player artistic expression by partnering with CurseForge. inZOI will provide a dedicated platform for mods, ensuring the community has the best tools and resources to bring their creative visions to life.

Krafton seems to want to foster a community like The Sims, which has long been supported by the efforts of players and modders, and the steps they are taking to ensure a similar environment in inZOI seem like a smart decision: this is a game content It's an easy way to expand the catalog (I mean, what Sims player doesn't have 100+ GB of content dedicated to pretty clothes and furniture? [and I have great hopes that inZOI will get off the ground with a great community of creators.

This is not the only inZOI news that the developers have locked and loaded. I was honestly on the fence about the game's art style, but Krafton has released a little something that I'm really excited about: a character creation demo that will be released on August 21, with over 250 customization options. This demo won't last long, though, as it will only be available until August 25 at 9pm PT and August 26 at 12am ET/5am BST.
