When Nvidia launched the GeForce RTX 4080 Super earlier this year, we were pleased because its MSRP was cheaper than the original RTX 4080's. However, given that the RTX 4080 Super was only marginally faster, it still didn't seem cost-effective.

However, this MSI bargain campaign counters that, with a price reduction of more than $140 off the Super's MSRP. [Like all current Nvidia RTX 40 series, it features the Ada Lovelace architecture, which is rated for light power consumption but high gaming performance; the RTX 4080 Super has 10,240 CUDA cores (you can also call them shaders) and and the boost clock on this MSI model is 2,595 MHz, with a peak FP32 throughput of 53.1 TFLOPS.

If you don't know if this is a lot, only the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RTX 4090 are higher (61.4 TFLOPS and 82.6 TFLOPS respectively).

The RX 7900 XTX is a good GPU to compare with the RTX 4080 Super. Because this MSI model is just over $50 less than AMD's best GPU, the Radeon card has more VRAM (24GB vs. 16GB), and while it is a bit faster in games that use standard rasterization, the RTX 4080 Super is significantly faster when using ray tracing [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
