High on Life" is a TV show produced by JB Smoove of Curve Your Enthusiasm: "It's a case of recognizing the game.

JB Smoove, of "Curve Your Enthusiasm" and "Saturday Night Live" fame, is working on an animated TV adaptation of "High on Life" and possibly starring in it, Deadline reported.

Smoove plays Gus in "High on Life." With Gus, he is equipped with a gun that goes off when he is playing with it. Personally, I thought Gus was more amphibious than a fish, but Smoove told Deadline about his role in the game: "They said I would be a fish that shoots guns! As a vegetarian, I think fish should have the right to defend themselves! Don't you agree?

The TV adaptation is being developed by Smoove's production company Alternate Side Productions, along with High on Life developer Squanch Games and agency Striker Entertainment. Smoove said, "[Squanch Games] got me into the game. It's a case of the game recognizing the game." High on Life is wild, weird, and wonderful."

I appreciate Smoove's enthusiasm, but I'm not sure if it's shared over here. Rick Lane was not particularly enthusiastic about the game, and his review of High on Life had a not-so-subtle score of 40%. He described it as a "mediocre mess" despite "glimpses of a fun shooter". For me personally, Roland's unique taste in funniness just doesn't sit right. He may have left Squanch Games as a result of domestic violence that was dropped last March, but he has not parted company with the game development company along with Adult Swim.

It remains to be seen when the show will be released, but given that we don't even know if Smoove has any plans to reprise his role, it's no surprise that information is relatively sparse. However, Smoove seems eagerly awaiting the show's release: "We're locked, loaded, and ready to go!" .
