Disgraced Dr. Disrespect Announces Return to Streaming

Exactly one month after admitting to sending inappropriate messages to minors on Twitch, he was fired from his gaming studio and announced a hiatus from streaming.

Today, the disgraced streamer posted on X for the first time since June, sharing an image of himself playing chess face to face with a stranger playing with checkers pieces. A deeper interpretation of this post is that Beahm has made good on his promise to "not go anywhere," as he stated before declaring his 36-day hiatus.

His list of "enemies" is only getting longer; several streaming friends have distanced themselves from Doc since Beahm's last statement. His Turtle Beach peripheral line has been removed from sale, the San Francisco 49ers have dissolved their partnership with him, and Dr. Disrespect was removed from NBA 2K24 in a patch. Midnight Society, the gaming studio he co-founded and was fired from, has removed Beahm's name from its official website and refunded premium cosmetic products that referenced his channel.

In all likelihood, Beahm will eventually return to his YouTube channel and we will all return to ignoring him, but he may have new and permanent problems facing his operation, confirming the reason for his Twitch ban, right after he suspended streaming, YouTube disabled the monetization of his channel.

"We stopped monetizing Dr Disrespect's channel because he violated our creator responsibility policy," a YouTube representative told PC Gamer in June.

It is unclear whether Beahm, who was one of the biggest YouTube-centric streamers before his confession, will be allowed to raise money on the platform again. If not, I can think of one controversial streaming platform that might incorporate him.
