It is very interesting that the new shooter, which Valve refuses to acknowledge exists, has a public subreddit.
[It's a third-person shooter with heroes, abilities, and a sort of Dota 2-style map. Lots of people play it every day, but Valve has never acknowledged the existence of such a game. And now I noticed that Deadlock even has a public subreddit.

r/DeadlockTheGame, which currently consists of 3.5 thousand members and is described as "a community for Deadlock, a third-person MOBA currently in development by Valve Corporation." Deadlock screenshots and gameplay videos began leaking onto the web around the same time it was created three months ago. The subreddit has not seen much activity since its inception, but scroll down and you'll see that players who participated in a secret alpha test have been steadily sharing their thoughts about the game.

"Valve should curve the zipline steeper," wrote user fwa451 a few hours ago. He writes, "I'm not a fan of it. I didn't mind it so much before, but I recently played 'BioShock Infinite' and found the zipline ride to be very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing."

I don't know how Valve could improve a zipline in a game I've never heard of, but I know what they mean. From the dozens and dozens of leaked Deadlock videos, it seems that ziplines are the primary means of fast travel between lanes. Much like the rail lines in Bioshock Infinite, but I think they should look smoother.

Here's an interesting one: there is already a hosting service on the subreddit that advertises and sells dedicated servers in Deadlock.

"Just wanted to share that we are experimenting with deadlock dedicated servers. We currently have servers up and running in Europe and North America."

User Tbmode apparently plays Deadlock enough to want Valve to add a hero ASAP, and aerostalgic already has it covered with farm priority and carry features.

"Please add a Razor analog from DOTA. I mean, we have Seven in the game, but we really need a static link!" Tbmode wrote.

Elsewhere, players have discussed the balance of heroes, how much the early builds they play keep crashing, and to what extent Deadlock should be considered a "MOBA" or a "shooter". The game has lanes, creeps, and stores, but it also has movement techniques and guns. So is it a MOBA with a shooter or a shooter with a MOBA?

That's a question the developers of Deadlock should answer, if they can find one...
