General
Once Human's patch is applied, the bike will be faster and easier to re-spec.

Once Human, the multiplayer open-world survival horror game released last month, today released a major patch with bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and a special August event.

One of the biggest changes is a speed boost for low-level bikes. This will be a relief for players who may be overwhelmed by the amount of things to walk around and collect in the open world. Apparently there is a bug introduced in the update that causes bikes to take damage when turning. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Another major change is the "memetic specializations", a perk you get every 5 levels in "Once Human". These allow you to tailor your build to your own preferences, improving things like building, foraging, and survival. However, once locked in, some players are stuck with a build they don't like because they can only reset it a couple of times. This patch changes that, allowing players to collect memetic specialization memory fragments (say that five times fast), which can then be used to respec. No more build fomo!

For those who enjoy growing mushrooms at home more than shooting the distopic nightmares of capitalism's past, there is an update to the farming system. A continuous cultivation feature has been added, which automatically replants the last cultivation in the same configuration. Fewer clicks are required and the mushrooms taste the same.

Many bug fixes and UI improvements have also been made. For example, you can now click on icons for monoliths, cargo conquests, etc. while the map is open. Public Crisis events will now automatically send invitations to other players to join with them, facilitating on-the-spot voice communication.

Finally, there are also the eventful things you would expect from a live service game. Log-in bonus events will begin on the 1st, 8th, and 15th of each month, and will offer a variety of luxurious cosmetic prizes. The Wilderness Express event starts on August 15, which is like a Mad Max feature film, with bonus points for running into things; the Secure on Sight event starts on August 22, and rewards players for defeating enemies and collecting specimen cards; and the Rewards event starts on August 23, and rewards players for collecting specimen cards.

Once Human and its latest patch are available on Steam.
