Fortnite” Player Declares Cybertruck as Public Enemy Number One: ”Until they are defeated, we are on truce with everyone else in the lobby.

Earlier this week, Epic unveiled its latest cross-marketing campaign. The campaign brings Tesla's Cybertruck (a vehicle that has earned four NHTSA recalls in seven months and has been called a “missile without guidelines” by safety experts) into Fortnite. The announcement gave Fortnite players a rare sense of unity, although it may not have been what Tesla had hoped for.

On X, users reacted to the crossover by declaring it open season on Fortnite's cybertruck drivers.

It is not only Fortnite players who have expressed frustration with cybertrucks. Some Fortnite developers have spoken out about their frustration with seeing Tesla's infamous trucks and excessive icons in the game. Fortnite producers Robbie Williams and Kyle Wynn have made it clear that their opinions are their own and that they will “destroy the cybertruck stance as soon as we find it.”

Does prioritizing cybertrack users constitute cyberbullying? But when you've earned a reputation for being a three-ton vehicle that is a hunk of mechanical failure and a threat to public safety, with a price tag of $70,000, you can't help but feel that if you put it in a video game, some level of backlash is inevitable.

Amid the general desire to destroy cybertrucks, X-users have shared other views on crossovers, with Elon Musk claiming that his special truck is Fishstick (a Fortnite character who historians might call “a very close friendship”) ), who has taken the time to wonder how he would feel about being driven by fellow Fortnite Skin Doggo, a relationship that has been hinted at. Others, unfortunately, have taken Fishstick's hinted endorsement of the cybertrack as a bitter betrayal.

Others on Reddit have suggested that driving a cybertruck in “Fortnite” would not only put you in a big, goofy shape, but might also put you at a competitive disadvantage because its huge windshield is less defensive than other vehicles in “Fortnite” Some users have theorized that this may be the case.

Whether the Cybertruck will actually gain more offensive power in the game remains to be seen. Initially, the Cybertruck skin was only available by completing nine quests in the “Summer Road Trip” event that began on July 23. The quests will only unlock one each day, so the earliest you can see the Cyber Truck in-game is July 31. The quests will remain active until August 6, after which players who want the Fortnite Cybertrack skin will have to purchase it on V-Bucks.
