Full build of “Space Marine 2” apparently leaked online about two months before its release.

A roughly 70 gigabyte build of the upcoming action game “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2” was uploaded to a piracy site on Sunday, apparently leaking what appears to be the full version about two months before its release.

According to a post on 4chan's /v/ message board (discovered by Insider Gaming), the build is dated June 20, 2024. If accurate, this build is essentially the finished version of Space Marine 2. PC Gamer has confirmed that a file that appears to be a development build of Space Marine 2 is currently posted on a Russian torrent site, and YouTube has a Videos excerpted from the build are beginning to appear on YouTube. According to the site, more than 500 people have already downloaded this leaked build.

The YouTube accounts posting videos of this build are not exactly discreet. When someone asked in the comments section where they got this game, they replied, “I can't say it's a shame because these are in danger of being removed, but it would be bad if I told you which site,” before revealing the obvious source in the same sentence: “Look at the specific .ru site with the magnet link and you should know one.”

The leaked video shows that the build is not yet complete. For example, the graphics settings menu has a placeholder asset of screenshots to show the differences between various settings, such as anti-aliasing and lighting quality tiers, etc. With only seven weeks until the September 9 launch, the leaks show that Captain Ultramarine Titus is back, it may be difficult to avoid spoilers for the “Space Marine 2” campaign.

Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive recently decided to cancel its scheduled public beta testing and focus on pre-launch optimization, but may be spending some of that time trying to eliminate leaks from the Internet It may be that the company is spending part of its time eliminating leaks from the Internet. We have reached out to publisher Focus Entertainment for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
