General
With the $65 Prime Day discount, I'd like to repurchase my all-time favorite lightweight wireless gaming mouse again.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight is my sweet baby, more than any other component or peripheral (although it's a close second to the custom keyboard). In my opinion, it's the best gaming mouse if you want something lightweight. Of course, with the Prime Day $65 discount, $95 at Best Buy and $100 at Amazon (Prime only), it's easy to recommend.

And yes, this is talking about Superlight circa 2020-21, not Superlight 2. We'll get to that later, but for now let's talk about what's special about Superlight.

When the G Pro X Superlight was introduced, most lightweight gaming mice like the Glorious Model O had a honeycomb construction. Honeycombing the shell is certainly one way to reduce weight, but it looks a bit trashy (IMO) and can collect gunk a bit more obnoxiously than a full-body shell.

Enter the super light. Somehow I managed to keep it down to a mere 63g without drilling a hole in it. When you actually hold it in your hand, you will be amazed at how sturdy it is. In squeeze and drop tests, it passes overwhelmingly. The Logitech G Pro and G Pro Wireless are sturdy and luxurious, and the Superlight proves that Logitech can maintain such quality even in an ultralight mouse.

Everything else is high quality, from the sensors to the scroll wheel to the satisfying but light button clicks (a personal favorite of the Superlight). Light clicks are important when playing competitive or long games, and this is where the Superlight 2 goes wrong, as it has a heavy click feel.

The Superlight 2 has been improved in several important ways, such as a slightly better sensor (which you almost certainly won't notice) and USB-C charging support (which you almost certainly will). It also has a hybrid optical/mechanical sensor, which should theoretically reduce the occurrence of double-click problems. However, I have never encountered Logitech's legendary double-click problem, and there are few reports of problems from the early days of Superlight.

However, the heavier clicks, in my opinion, make the Superlight 2 not worth the added cost. If the price were closer, it would be a more difficult decision, but as it stands, the current discounted price for the Superlight 2 is $122.55 (Prime only), $27 more than the V1. Personally, I would stick with OG's lightweight hero.

In fact, the Superlight was so far ahead of its time when it launched that it remains one of the top ultralights. Especially at this prime day price, there's nothing to complain about. If you don't already have one, get one right away.
