Lord help me, I'm thinking impure thoughts about computer cases again.

When Fractal Design North first appeared, I remember laughing hysterically at the “It's part wood” in our bland headline. That's what we like about it! We went from the days when tempered glass was the most popular thing in case design, through the wave of high airflow mesh design, to a new and exciting aesthetic era that utilizes materials we've been making things out of for 10,000 years.

Fractal Design North is imposing. It is imposing. And it proves that you don't have to be particularly expensive to build a fantastic and classy PC. Normally reasonable at $140, thanks to Amazon Prime Day, the white model with mesh side panels is on sale for $109.99.

If you don't already have Lian Li's very nice case (also white), this is exactly the model I would buy. The wood is calling my name. It fits my desk perfectly, and if you stare at it, you might think you're relaxing on a deck with a lake view instead of working. I could set the 140mm fan on the front panel to exhaust instead of intake, lean in close and let the warm breeze blow through my hair...
