If, like me, you spend many hours in front of your PC, working during the day and gaming at night, you will want to minimize the stress that your work and hobbies put on your body. For example, it is really important to have the right chair for lumbar support and posture, but you can start with something simpler--change the mouse you use.

Traditional gaming mice are designed to be as lightweight as possible, and ergonomic designs are not common. I injured both my wrists in an accident many years ago and found that I could only use my current gaming mouse, the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed, for a few hours at a time.

For work, I used to use a Logitech MX Master daily, but switched to the MX Vertical earlier this year.

The MX Master has long reigned as the number one ergonomic mouse. That is, if your hands are the right size. The massive body provides good hand and wrist support, but PC users, especially those with small or large hands, may find the curves unwieldy.

At 141 g (0.31 lb), it is a fairly heavy mouse, and along with the fairly low-resolution sensor, it is not ideal for frantic gaming. For me, however, the electromagnetic wheel MagSpeed is excellent and makes light work of large documents.

However, this model is still a traditional design, and as I got older, the ergonomic features no longer provided the support I really needed. So I took the plunge and bought a Logitech MX Vertical. That odd shape helps reduce the strain on my wrist, and it feels very natural to hold and move around.

Unfortunately, it is quite unsuitable for gaming, especially first-person and third-person shooters, and the wheel is pretty basic. It's not that it's too heavy (in fact, it's lighter than the MX Master 3S), but that the optical sensors max out at 4,000 DPI and the base PTFE ring doesn't like rapid movement. In addition, its somewhat top-heavy design makes it prone to tipping over.

However, it is fine for slower-paced games and is much better than the Razer mouse for extended play of Baldur's Gate 3.

If you are looking for a mouse that balances ergonomic support with gaming features, the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed is a great choice. It's a blend of the much-loved G502 and MX Master, with a large thumb rest and plenty of buttons that can be programmed for in-game macros.

It also has RGB lighting, and it's no secret that RGB will increase your game processing speed by at least 100 fps. I've read that somewhere.
