In his essay “Politics and the English Language,” George Orwell described the purpose of political speech as “to make a solid impression on a pure wind.” Such thoughts crossed my mind as I embarked on a Prime Day hunt for an air duster, reluctantly concluding that my Razer Blade would be fine without the crumbs and dust caught under the keys.

One bargain immediately stood out as something special. It was a company called TRANSWARRIOR, offering compressed air dusters for PC cleaning at a whopping 94% off. That means that if this were to sell for a little over $600, there would be a bridge of interest for sale.

The name of the product is an Amazon listing style itself, a mixture of “compressed,” “air,” “duster,” and various PC terms. So we'll call it a compressed air duster!

Is this what you want, an 180000RPM air duster is better than a 100000RPM air duster!

I hope you get the sense that I'm a little skeptical about the discounts offered here: I don't for a minute think anyone bought one of these things for $600, and neither should you. This is unfortunately common on Amazon, not just on Prime Day, and it is difficult to determine if you are actually getting some sort of discount.

But what we can say about these two air dusters is that they definitely hit the lower end of the price range for these things and have the features you would want (mainly three variable speeds, lights, and various attachments for blowing around corners). Customer reviews for both devices average around 4 stars, which is generally positive about the devices, and according to Amazon's always helpful AI summary, “customers like the dust blower for its ability to clean dust and dirt.”

The only hesitation I have is of course Amazon's 30-day no-quibble period, although the manufacturer's warranty, which I consider standard on electronic devices, doesn't seem to be listed anywhere.

And anyway, there's another reason you should buy this. They nailed it with this tagline: “Say goodbye to air cans!”
