Prime Day RGB lighting deals mean no need for big lights anymore.

Prime Day RGB lighting deals mean no need for big lights anymore.

Let's get the situation straight: you've assembled your PC, your desk is neat and tidy, and you're ready to devote hours to your favorite game. But something is off. Could it be the clinical, bright lights glaring overhead that are keeping you from immersing yourself in your game?

Lighting is not the first thing you think about when setting up a gaming space, but it can play a big role in taking your setup to the next level. Yet, this upgrade tends to be expensive, which is why we put it off so many times. But that's why sale events like Prime Day are a great opportunity to get great lighting at a lower price.

I'm not a big fan when it comes to comfort lighting. I hate having overhead lights on because they are too harsh when I'm trying to calm down. However, to compensate for this lack of overhead lighting, I needed something that could provide bright light without mimicking a clinical atmosphere, so something like the Govee floor lamp was ideal.

With the full range of colors available, you are not bound to cold white or warm yellow light. No matter what mood you are in or what music you are listening to, you can change the lamp accordingly. What's more, the Govee floor lamp is currently available on Amazon for $50 off.

If you don't want to take up floor space, wall lights like the Govee Hexa Light Panels are an excellent option. Available on Amazon for $80 off a 10-pack, they are a great deal for putting cool lighting in a space. Not only can you change the colors, but with the Govee app, you can change each hexagon into any pattern you want. But what convinced me to check out these lights is the fact that they can be synchronized with music. If, like me, you play background music while working or playing a relaxing game, this will make your setup even better.

Govee is not the only company offering significant discounts this Prime Day; Nanoleaf is also offering significant discounts on wall lights, with a $40 discount on Amazon for a seven-pack of triangle lights and a $70 discount on Amazon for wood-style hexagon lights. Both are worthy additions to the gaming space, emitting a powerful yet inorganic light that can be placed anywhere you like.

There are many options that reduce the need for overhead lighting. But if you don't want to use lamps or stick panels on the wall, there are also RGB bulbs. These are a much more subtle change, but they make a huge difference, and I often rely on them in other rooms in my home.

A set of three Nanoleaf bulbs is currently $15 off at Amazon, and a set of four Govee bulbs has a modest $4 discount at Amazon. While this is a much smaller savings than wall or floor-mounted lighting, it is still worth considering. As someone who always keeps these bulbs on hand, I'd seize any opportunity to rebuild my home lighting at a discount.
