This prime day combo of an AMD Zen 4 CPU, motherboard, and RAM for less than $400 is the perfect upgrade for PC gamers.

If you've been putting off upgrading your PC, now is your chance. However, while these offers are pretty good, we have found that you actually save more by shopping around and purchasing the parts separately.

So here are some AMD CPU, motherboard, and RAM combinations that are great upgrades for PC gamers.

First, the CPU, which is the Ryzen 5 7600X, a 6-core, 12-thread, 5.6 GHz boost clock that is fast enough for today's games, and while some games prefer more cores than this, you won't be disappointed with the overall performance. Of course, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU available today, but it is more than twice the price of the 7600X. [A great CPU needs a great motherboard to support it, and the ASRock B650M PG Lighting is a powerful motherboard in a pocket-sized package. I have been using ASRock motherboards for a while now, and ASRock has made great strides in improving every aspect of their motherboards, and this motherboard is no exception.

ASRock will also be adding the upcoming 9000 series via a BIOS update.

Among the usual features one would expect from a modern board are one PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot for a super-fast SSD, plus two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (though one is only half as fast); if three NVMe SSDs aren't enough storage for you If three NVMe SSDs aren't enough storage for your needs, there are also four SATA III ports.

As for connectivity, there is a small pile of USB ports and headers, 2.5G LAN, and integrated WiFi.

The last thing you need for an AMD Zen 4 upgrade is DDR5 RAM, unless for some reason you are already using DDR5 RAM on an Intel system. In terms of speed, DDR5-6000 is the sweet spot for Ryzen 7000 processors, and while some CPU and motherboard combinations can be picky about CAS timing, this Team Group kit has been confirmed by ASRock to work without issue However, this Team Group kit has been verified by ASRock to work without any problems.

So why spend money on something faster or with RGB when you can get tons of performance and a whopping 32GB of system memory in this tidy looking kit?

One last thing, this Ryzen chip does not come with a cooler, so you may have to get one on sale; the Ryzen 5 7600X does not generate much heat, so you won't need a huge liquid cooler.

Any of the best coolers will work fine, but I highly recommend the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 ($38.90 on Amazon).
