The first email I opened this morning was the image above, and I woke up startled. A smooth-faced, blue-eyed Bigfoot stares speculatively, or rather pensive, at the press release followed by the announcement of the upcoming sasquatch sim, “Bigfoot Life.”

Something about that rubber mask face stunned me. I also like Bigfoot's marching gait, seen in the trailer embedded below, but after seeing criticism of his Bigfoot appearance online, the game's creators are considering reworking the cryptid's face.

Bigfoot Life is a solo project by developer Wesley Abrams, who has previously made games about mushroom hunting and an action-adventure game called Spider Fox that he made for his son. He announced Bigfoot Life today and posted it on the Bigfoot subreddit.

For example, one person insisted that Abrams consult a Bigfoot scientist. Abrams politely declined. Abrams told PC Gamer that he had researched Bigfoot encounters and watched many documentaries, but the day his son was born he had the flu and binge-watched “Survivorman: Bigfoot Season.”

From the trailer, it seems that the Bigfoot scientists are telling the story of Bigfoot's behavior as it is, as they forage for food, build shelter, steal from campsites, avoid being photographed by humans, and find Bigfoot's friends.

It is the comments about Bigfoot's appearance that Abrams intends to act upon. 'Possibly the worst looking Bigfoot I've ever seen!

One person commented on Reddit.

“I've gotten a few comments from Bigfoot fans that Bigfoot's face doesn't look right, that it might be too human,” Abrams told me.

“So we are currently working on an update to make Bigfoot's face look better.

I, in turn, said I liked Bigfoot's creepy face.

“Nothing is set in stone. We shouldn't mess with his face.”

Uh-oh. I'm in the business of reporting Bigfoot news, not altering it. What if Abrams should be giving Bigfoot a new face, but I've convinced him otherwise?"

Now all I can do is help him get more feedback.

The last thing I wanted to know: is Abrams himself a Bigfoot believer?

“I have never actually encountered Bigfoot myself, but I do wish Bigfoot were real. The people I know who have encountered Bigfoot are credible and very convincing.” There are too many sightings and encounters to believe that they are all hoaxes or bears or any other animal. I want to believe that Bigfoot is living his best life, as the game 'Bigfoot Life' says. I think 'live your best Bigfoot life' would be a good hook for the game, and that's why I added it to the short description of the game."
